Dangerous Side Effects Associated with Synthetic Bath Salts

Dangerous Side Effects Associated with Synthetic Bath Salts

Although meth is considered to be one of the most addictive and harmful substances people are using, it's not the only dangerous synthetic drug used by many causing extreme harm. The synthetic substance marketed as 'bath salts' is also extremely powerful and destructive and causes severe and dangerous side effects. Synthetic bath salts are highly addictive, possibly more so than meth.

Often referred to as 'legal cocaine' by users, bath salts (synthetic cathinones products), are not only dangerous, they can be deadly. Although many states have already banned the sale of bath salts some have not and unfortunately these dangerous products are still obtainable and are also sold via the internet.

The side effects associated with synthetic cathinones which are frequently marketed as 'bath salts' are sadly extremely horrible. According to the AAPCC (American Association of Poison Control Centers), side effects users have experienced include:

    • Paranoia and Violent Behavior
    • Hallucinations
    • Delusions
    • Suicidal Thoughts
    • Seizures
    • Panic Attacks
    • Increased Blood Pressure
    • Increased Heart Rate
    • Chest Pain
    • Nausea and Vomiting

Due to hallucinations and paranoia experienced from using the synthetic substance 'bath salts', sadly a thirty one year old from Texas eventually took his own life KHOU recently reported. Texas is one of the states that hasn't yet banned bath salts but according to their report, lawmakers in the state are trying to make the dangerous synthetic substance illegal.
